Knee pain is something many runners experience.
Now, a technique first developed by a russian scientist 40 years ago is making its way to the united states.
It claims to not only help you run faster, but also reduce your risk of injuries.
Running can result in a real love-hate relationship.
It's a quick way to burn calories, but it can also cause annoying aches and pains.
A new technique called "Pose Running" allows runners to use gravity to their benefits by falling forward.
It's unlike the traditional heel-to-toe technique which works against gravity and has a greater impact on muscles and connective tissues.
Valerie Hunt, Certified Pose Instructor, "We're keeping our body as a unit and we're keeping our knees bent. so when we land, when we're running, we can absorb the shock and the impact. the pose method reduces impact on the knee by 53%."
The running shoes also break from tradition, they're flat and force you to land on the ball of your foot, not your heel.
Instructors say landing on the heel causes maximum shock to the body.
