MASON CITY, IA - North Iowans roll up their sleeves and donate the gift of life.
The Blood Center of Iowa held a special "Blood Donors Rock" drive today at Southbridge Mall in Mason City.
Donations today will go to local hospital patients in need of blood transfusions.
The recent winter storms forced several blood drives to cancel, so organizers say blood donations are needed to boost the local supply.
The Blood Center of Iowa teamed up with Southbridge Mall, Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, and Three Eagles Communications radio stations to put on the event.
Participants received a free t-shirt, and double points to spend at The Blood Center of Iowa's online store.
