Cresco - This month our Giving Your Best volunteer of the month is a woman who can't seem to get enough helping throughout her community.
Dorothy Kupka has a full schedule.
She keeps busy by helping others all over the town of Cresco.
From the hospital to Evans Memorial Home...to Cresco Assisted Living and the Howard County Fair.
"I so much enjoy doing everything that I do that I don't believe that I really need to be honored for things like this. It's just something I do," says Dorothy.
She's been volunteering for the past three years since her retirement and meeting lots of people.
"She always greets everybody with a smile and very is polite and always laughing and everyone enjoys being around her," says co-worker Vicki McGee.
Dorothy says she likes being an active part of the community and she wasn't going to just sit around.
"So many people had done a lot for my family and my friends and so forth and I felt that I wanted to come back and do things for other people."
She enjoys reading newspapers to people with vision problems and she says it's exciting being a part of the county fair.
Vicki points out Dorothy is so active, she has to use a date book to keep track of where she has to be each day.
"Speaking for our tenants, I know they really enjoy having her over here to help and do things for them," says Vicki.
