Becky Rose is not a music teacher, but many of her lessons are being learned through song. For Ms. Rose it's a fun way to teach. "If it goes along with our lessons then I’ll incorporate it, because it's a good way of teaching different ideals or different characteristics of living together, getting along with each other. It seems to work.”
She learned to play guitar when she was in Junior High. Now, several of her students are learning to play as well.
But her third grade classroom is not always about music. They are doing some serious reading as well. Today they are reading the story of Johnny Appleseed.
But whatever the activity Ms. Rose says she just loves hanging out with eight and nine-year-olds.
"It makes it very easy for me to be a good teacher when you have kids like these."
These kids are not arguing with that.
