Bob Link
Assignment Editor

After 30 years in the newspaper business, Bob Link joined KIMT-TV as the Assignment Editor in May of 2009. A native of North Dakota, Link grew up in Beulah N.D. and started working for the local newspaper when he was 15-years-old, covering sports. After graduating from Beulah High School in 1978, Link attended the Military Journalism School at Fort Benjamin Harrison, in Indianapolis Ind., and Military Photography School at Lowery Air Force Base in Denver, Colo.

Bob has worked at several weekly and daily newspapers in North Dakota and Iowa. He was editor of his hometown newspaper, the Beulah Beacon, and then served as Managing Editor of the Traill County Tribune in Mayville N.D.

Link has also worked as a reporter at The Bismarck Tribune in Bismarck, N.D. the Muscatine Journal in Muscatine, IA., and most recently the Globe Gazette in Mason City.

In 2003, Link enjoyed what he calls the ultimate journalistic experience, when he and Globe Gazette Photographer Arian Schuessler spent several weeks in Iraq, embedded with the 1133rd Transportation Company of the Iowa National Guard.

Bob and his wife Linda, along with step-son Garrett Carlson, live in Northwood.
