Shane Delaney

Shane Delaney joined the KIMT News 3 team in May of 2010. He graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota with a double major in broadcast journalism and communication studies with a minor in family studies. During his time at St. Thomas he worked for TommieMedia.com as well as numerous university and department video projects. Shane won the National Broadcast News Directors Association Jack Shelley Award in 2009 and was a Regional Emmy Nominee in 2008.
In college, Shane was active in the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Press Photographers Association. He also worked as an anchor and news director for the university news show. Shane did internships at both WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, MN and KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, SD.
Shane grew up in the small town of Pipestone, Minnesota situated in the southwest corner of the state. He is recently married and he and his wife Sara love to now call North Iowa home. In his free time Shane enjoys going for walks with his yellow lab Gracie, taking a bike ride, camping, traveling and hanging out with his wife and friends. He is passionate about visual storytelling and loves to inform viewers.
