Austin, MN - Plans for a home improvement store in southern Minnesota hit a snag. The city of Austin says Menards plans to build a store in the west part of town. Menards has told the city it will be delaying the project because of the shaky construction market. Austin's city developer says they will move ahead on the project once they get the go-ahead from Menards. 

"A home improvement store for regional aspect is something that Austin could use. I think there was a lot of excitement and positive comments made by not only citizens, but the city council," City of Austin Development Director Craig Hoim said.

The city says the project may get started in June.
